Sometimes I think we were so used to seeing Gretzky's magic that we took him for granted, kind of like Rembrandt hanging his own painting in his living room and thinking it was third rate.CrazyCoachhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09147167556828245182noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648556457874572949.post-90787911068560949292008-11-04T12:04:00.000-07:002008-11-04T12:04:00.000-07:00Oilman: Yeah, we were incredibly lucky to have the...Oilman: Yeah, we were incredibly lucky to have the Great One play his home games in Edmonton for 9.9 years. I knew I was watching something special from that very first game. I went on the record calling him the greatest hockey genius who ever lived partway through the 1980-81 season, watched him through that prism from then on, and he lived up to the billing. Watching him and his high-octane buddies tear the league apart and rewrite the record book was a hockey fan's dream come true.Brucehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01190620732067746768noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-648556457874572949.post-57966695575125722492008-11-04T10:13:00.000-07:002008-11-04T10:13:00.000-07:00that's awesome stuff Bruce - one of my huge hockey...that's awesome stuff Bruce - one of my huge hockey regrets is never seeing Gretzky play live - it's incredible that you and so many others here in Edmonton got to see him so much. At least it sounds like you knew what you were watching.Oilmanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07543588731775955952noreply@blogger.com
